Summary from Book: Adventure rocks!
Meet Rover and Speck.
Together they’re about to embark on an epic planetary adventure to make awesome discoveries and collect cool scientific data. That is, if the scary rock giants don’t find them first…
Note: This review is done from memory. I originally read this awhile ago.
Page Pig Thoughts: This was a sweet story of connecting with others, sometimes through music and sometimes just kindness. The rock monsters showed that unknown things aren’t always as scary as they seem. Interestingly, this one felt a bit like someone wanted to teach some STEM concepts then came up with a story to go with them, but I’m not sure why it felt that way to me. If your child loves robots and space, this one may be an amazing book for him/her.
I read this one a second time with Page Pup. The STEM concepts didn’t seem as big, but maybe that was just because I already knew STEM concepts were discussed throughout the story. We both enjoyed the sweetness and silliness of the story.
