Summary from Book: Melly loves to play games. All her cat housemates want to do, though, is take a nap. To get some peace and quiet, the troublemakers trick Melly into burying a show in the backyard. But the small prank turns into a big problem when she falls down the hole…and is magically transported to another world!
Melly lands smack-dab in the middle of a scuffle between a group of knights and a huge monster. But she soon discovers that the grumpy giant isn’t as scary as he looks. He’s being hunted by a greedy king. One who has also been stealing from his people and locking them up in the dungeons. So although Melly is desperate to return home, she makes it her mission to help her new friend and save the kingdom. But how could someone so tiny defeat such a powerful foe? It may just take a game that only Melly can win!

Page Pig Thoughts: Mellybean is a cute series about finding your own special powers and trusting in a friend. Mellybean’s kindness and enthusiasm befriends the grumpy giant monster, Nara, that just needed love and understanding. Then Mellybean helped kick the cruel king out of the kingdom and earned the crown. Mellybean makes some decrees to set the kingdom right, then gives the giant “monster,” Nara, the crown. Hooray for enthusiastic Mellybean bringing joy into the lives in the book and ours.
This series gets Page Pup thumbs up.
