Page Pig Thoughts: InvestiGators bring the laughs and creative word play. Mango and Brash solve mysteries and thwart plans of villains. We were never really sure where the story was going, but the ride is always fun.
Page Pup gives these two thumbs up. We hope that more of these are available sooner rather than later.
Family Unit: Mango and Brash seemingly live together with everyone else at SUIT headquarters, or maybe not, we really aren’t sure
Conflict/Social Issues:
- In the series, Brash is often conflicted because his previous partner became a radioactive cracker villain. Then took on other villainous forms. Brash feels responsible.
- Mango does not always take things seriously enough for Brash.
Positive Items:
- Mango and Brash work together to solve many mysteries and save the day.
- Mango and Brash are resilient and go with whatever comes their way.
Items of Interest:
- Mango and Brash travel through the sewers, so they are constantly using the bathrooms everywhere.
- Potty humor is used occasionally in these books.
- This particular book has lots of vomit.
- The art museum is having a gala, but all of the art keeps disappearing in the delivery van on the way.
- A copycat was keeping all of the real art because no one really looks at the art to appreciate it fully anyway. The copycat was kicked out of art school for mimicking everyone else’s styles, even if imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
- The Investigators website is full of fun activities and crafts, including paper dolls and choose your own adventure style mystery
