Summary from Book: Felix just found a tunnel to a land full of trolls! And a troll named Calcite is happy to show him around.
The tour ends early when a band of gnomes traps the new friends. This grumpy group thinks trolls eat gnomes. But that’s silly-trolls eat rocks! Can Felix and Calcite fix the big misunderstanding?

Page Pig Thoughts: I could see this book being somebody’s happy place, unfortunately, it was not ours. Well, currently anyway, maybe the mood would strike us one day. I enjoyed the idea of a land of trolls, but the story just didn’t get me laughing or overly interested. Not a bad story, just not really great either.
Use caution with a sensitive reader that might find the thought of a troll/monster randomly showing up in a toy chest or closet rather terrifying.
Items of Interest:
- Calcite the troll falls through Felix’s toy chest into his room. Felix then falls into the toy chest and winds up in the land of trolls. At the end of the story, he goes through a hole in a tree stump and winds up in his broom closet at home.
- Trolls snort up trails or snot/boogers.
- Trolls are smelly and eat rocks.
- Felix definitely sides with his new friend, Calcite, but that seems a little understandable when the gnomes were rather misled/confused/clueless.
- Felix almost seemed smarmy at one point when Calcite was angry at the gnomes and he was saying to listen to Calcite.
- The gnomes were hunting trolls for 200 years because they thought that trolls ate gnomes. They thought Casper was eaten, he thought Hugo was eaten, etc. All gnomes were accounted for, so they realized that they didn’t need to hunt trolls anymore. They did not apologize to Calcite.
