Summary from Book: When there’s trouble in Peaseblossom Woods, it’s up to the Superfairies to save the day! Rose, Berry, Star, and Silk use teamwork to rescue animals in distress, bringing together their unique super skills, petal power, and lots of love. Readers will be enchanted by these four super stories — one for every season!

Page Pig Thoughts: While I found this one to be so-so, I could see this being a young reader’s joy. The colorful illustrations are cute and fun, and the story could be entertaining. I enjoyed the illustrations, but found the story itself not to be overly noteworthy. Page Pup was intrigued by the color illustrations but hasn’t been compelled to read it yet.

Use caution with a younger or sensitive reader, some of the rescues may be a little concerning.

Family Unit: The Superfairies live together in the cherry blossom tree

Conflict/Social Issues:

  1. Basil the bear cub gets bored with his parents, so he wanders off seeking some fun.
  2. Dancer the pony feels lots of pressure because everyone says that she is the best dancer and expects her to do amazing dances every year.
  3. The Autumn Fairy’s storm sweeps Martha mouse up in the wind and whisks her away from her family.
  4. Violet the velvet rabbit wants to prove how brave she is, but winds up at the top of a tall slope.

Positive Items:

  1. The Superfairies work together and trust one another.
  2. The Superfairies resolve new problems as they arise in each rescue.

Items of Interest:

  1. The Superfairies work together and use their unique special powers to rescue animals in trouble. Rose has healing fairy kisses, Berry has super eyesight, Star can create dazzling brightness, and Silk spins super strong webs.
  2. The Superfairies have the animals into their home to warm them up and have parties.
  3. The Superfairies quickly prepare for each rescue. They pack bags with safety gear, use a helicopter (for flying animals, not themselves), and get information from a strawberry computer. The Superfairies even have an alert system to notify them when animals are in trouble.
  4. Basil the bear cub gets bored with his parents, so he wanders off seeking some fun. He gets his paw stuck in a bridge. The Superfairies dislodge his paw, then he gets swept along in the river and needs a rescue before going over the waterfall.
  5. Dancer the pony feels like she is no longer good at dancing,s o she runs away and hides in the badgers’ home. As she is running, she destroys the cake that the rabbits worked really hard to make. Turns out she was still good at dancing, but partnering with her friend made her more confident for the annual show.
  6. The Autumn Fairy brings storms to clear the trees of leaves for the winter. Her wind was super gusty and blows a small mouse away from home and her family. The Superfairies confront the Autumn Fairy who feels badly because she also cares for the animals. The Autumn Fairy works some magic to slow down the storms. The animals are able to have an autumn celebration.
  7. Violet the velvet rabbit is showing off her bravery on skis and follows Basil the bear cub to the top of a tall slope. Violet looks down and gets nervous because it is so high. Basil says that she is so cool for even going up and says that she can do it and make it down. Violet attempts to ski down, crashes, winds up dangling from a cliff, snowballs down a slope to splash into an icy pond.
